What The Dickins: A Tale Of Edinburgh City

What’s On In Edinburgh – January 2020

January in Edinburgh is usually the coldest month of the year and starts off with a gigantic street party in the city centre! And if that’s not wild enough, how about a quick New Years’ dip in the Firth of Fourth? In other words, the Scots won’t be put off by the cold and neither should you. Our Capital city has a wonderful collection of events this January so keep reading below to see What’s on in January in Edinburgh.

January Edinburgh

January 2020

Message in the Skies is back from the 1st of January, this year showcasing Shorelines, a collection of letters to Scotland reflecting on our relationship with our seas, waters and coasts and our maritime heritage. Running until the 25th, the words of five celebrated writers will illuminate and animate landmarks around the city with a maritime theme this January.

Towards the end of the month the Burns & Beyond Festival and the Chinese New Year Festivals are collaborating for a very special programme of events, celebrating the alignment of Burns Night and Chinese New Year, which will both fall on 25 January 2020 – the year of the Rat.
