What The Dickins: A Tale Of Edinburgh City

What’s On In Edinburgh – December 2019

December in Edinburgh is a magical time and here at Dickins, we love the season and all that comes with it! With all the glistening markets and light shows around the city, it may be getting dark earlier but Edinburgh is shining through. We want to thank you for supporting us this year and are inspired to jump into 2020 with your continued support and a lot of exciting things happening at Dickins.

A busy time for all, we hope you spend quality time with loved ones, celebrate, rest and reflect on all 2019 has brought and look excitedly into 2020 with us.

Last month we were thrilled to finally share one of our most exciting new homes with you Our London Street Home – The Story and of course brought you timely recommendations for some of the Best Soup Spots in Town  and the Best places in Edinburgh for Christmas Day Lunch.

Finally, the launch of our Free Little Library brought such joy to the office, we take such pride in checking each day to see if there is anything new inside! We hope you have spotted our little library if you’ve come along Dundas Street. If not, we highly recommend a visit.

With so much happening it has been hard to pick a few highlights but here’s what we think you may enjoy most…

Don’t miss out on the Jupiter Artland Christmas Fair and Hopetoun House Shopping Fair both taking place THIS WEEKEND!

The Lion King is undoubtedly the must see of the season, with an inspiring cast bringing the story to life, there are still a few last minute tickets available if you haven’t got yours yet.

This weekend Tom Fletcher of McFly will be in town to launch his two new children’s books at the Assembly Rooms,  a great day out for the kids with books, games and imagination! Get your tickets here.

If you are around Stockbridge on the weekend of the 7th you might just find yourself a spectator of a Santa Parade for the Edinburgh Christmas Charity Festival, which along with Santa’s Grotto will be hosting fun runs over the weekend.

There are of course many festive events taking place in Edinburgh this December so please see below a small selection of what we think you may like.
