What The Dickins: A Tale Of Edinburgh City

What’s On In Edinburgh – May 2019

Can anyone believe it’s already May? It feels like the city has sprung to life these past few weeks, with the cherry blossoms in bloom and the temperatures rising. It really does feel magical and we’ve been enjoying the changing seasons and spending more time outdoors. In our recent blog post, we shared some of Edinburgh’s Best Parks & Outdoor Spaces.

April was a month of many festivals for Edinburgh and the same is true in May, with popular events like Hidden Door and Imaginate Children’s Festival returning this month. The Craft Beer Festival and the Edinburgh Marathon are also big events to look forward to this May.

The students at Edinburgh College of Art will be holding their much-anticipated annual show on the 23rd and the famous Jupiter Artland reopens for summer on the 18th. The stunning exhibition, ‘In Focus’, finishes on the 12th May, so it’s your last chance to see this brilliant collection of Scottish photography at the City Art Centre.

May is also set to be a great month for music, with Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter Patty Griffin performing in the Queen’s Hall and The Manic Street Preachers playing at Usher Hall.
