As soon as you step through the front door of this stunning, luxury three bedroom home on Howe Street, you'll feel delighted you booked it. The location is great too. The top of Howe Street is in the heart of the Georgian New Town and less than five minutes walk from George Street with all its fabulous boutiques and restaurants. On Howe Street itself you'll find great local coffee shops and a small supermarket. Much loved Stockbridge is just around the corner and the farmers market there every Sunday is very popular and a very short walk from here.


The first thing you'll notice is the scale. This is a large home at around 230 sq m or 2,500 sq ft and is located on the second floor. Light floods the rooms from the Georgian sash and case windows and there are high ceilings and lovely architectural details throughout. The home was furnished and designed by an excellent local interior designer and everything you'll find here is great quality and designed with comfort in mind. It is home for the family who own it when they're in the UK.


The living room is fabulous and is perfect for relaxing with friends and family or entertaining. There are three beautiful windows and glazed double doors leading onto the hallway. It's very spacious too. There are beautiful chairs and a sofa, a gas fire, a TV with sky channels and a dining table which seats 6 very comfortably. The attractive kitchen is well equipped for dining at home and has a Nespresso machine. It has a dining table to seat 4.


The master bedroom is beautiful with a superking bed and lovely linens. There's a sense of calm luxury and it will be easy to sleep well here. The twin bedroom is set up like an American twin with two kingsize beds. This means that two adults will sleep in great comfort here or two children would fit in each bed. The third bedroom is a charming smaller double. There are two bathrooms, a shower room and a bathroom with a shower over the bath.


Guests staying in this luxury home are going to have a wonderful time. It's the ultimate in beautiful Georgian spaces.

24 hour cool-off period: Providing you book more than fourteen days before the start of your stay, you can cancel your booking within 24 hours of making it and we will refund 100% of any charges.

Cancelling after the booking is confirmed: Once a confirmation of booking has been issued to you via email by Dickins, you are responsible for the total price detailed. If you need to cancel, Dickins will try to relet the period for you and if they are successful, you will be reimbursed with the value of the relet less a £75 + VAT charge. If they are not able to relet the period, you will be responsible for the full rental cost. It may be a good idea to make sure you have travel insurance which covers cancellation.

Central New Town

Your New Neighbourhood

The Central New Town spans from Scotland Street in the East to Randolph Crescent in the West and from Princes Street in the South to Brandon Terrace in the North. It encompasses most of Edinburgh’s beautiful and enviable Georgian New Town.

In 1766 James Craig, aged 27, entered a competition to design a New Town to ease overcrowding in the Old Town. There were six entries and he won. His plan was for St Andrew Square and Charlotte Square, Princes Street, George Street and Queen Street and was presented to King George III in 1767. Edinburgh’s New Town is now world famous and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1995. The Georgian New Town is known for its graceful sweeping crescents, wide streets and private central gardens. The beautiful stone buildings have large astragal windows that we love to peep in on a winters evening to see what lies inside. The architectural details and high ceilings in Edinburgh’s New Town put Bath to shame. The architectural highlights are Charlotte Square, Moray Place and Heriot Row.
