There's a wonderful relaxed, calm and artistic vibe about this three bedroom home in Marchmont. Strathearn Road is just around the corner from Marchmont Road and so there are great local shops and cafes in the neighbourhood and the Warrender Swim Centre is around the corner too. You walk easily down to The Meadows from here in a few minutes and then onto all the major Fringe venues and Bruntsfield with all it's great independent shops, restaurants and bars is also a short walk away, so it's a great location for the Edinburgh Festival. 


Located on the third floor of this lovely Victorian building with an attractive hallway and original tiles, the views and light make the climb more than worthwhile. The floors are polished wood, the walls are pale and there are books and musical instruments throughout. You enter into a large hallway which is lined with bookcases and there's a desk here too. The sitting room has fantastic open views from a large bay window to Blackford Hill. The walls have been stripped to reveal the original plaster and you'll find comfy seating, a piano, a stove, books and great artwork. The dining kitchen has recently been installed and is a cool, contemporary space which is very well equipped for dining at home as this is normally a home. The highlight is being able to stand at the sink and look at Edinburgh Castle! There are three double bedrooms, all are light and airy and there's a bathroom with a shower over the bath.


This is a brilliant Edinburgh Festival home which guests are going to love staying in as it's cool, light filled, airy and calm. A true oasis from all the Festival buzz. 


During the Edinburgh Festival a month long booking is preferred.

24 hour cool-off period: Providing you book more than fourteen days before the start of your stay, you can cancel your booking within 24 hours of making it and we will refund 100% of any charges.

Cancelling after the booking is confirmed: Once a confirmation of booking has been issued to you via email by Dickins, you are responsible for the total price detailed. If you need to cancel, Dickins will try to relet the period for you and if they are successful, you will be reimbursed with the value of the relet less a £75 + VAT charge. If they are not able to relet the period, you will be responsible for the full rental cost. It may be a good idea to make sure you have travel insurance which covers cancellation.

Marchmont

Your New Neighbourhood

Marchmont is a much loved area of Edinburgh starting at the Meadows and running South to Beaufort Road and from Whitehouse Loan in the West to Causewayside in the East.

It was planned as an area of middle class tenements by Sir George Warrender, who owned an estate in the area known as ‘Warrender Park’ in the mid 19th century. A few streets in the area commemorate his name. It comprises mostly of four storey Victorian residential tenements and nowadays it’s very popular with families and students. Arden Street is where Ian Rankin’s fictional Detective Inspector Rebus lives.
