This lovely ground floor one bedroom Quartermile apartment in Simpson Loan is only available from time to time. It's located on one of the original hospital buildings and so you'll find very high ceilings and large windows which all have plantation shutters for privacy.
The living area and kitchen are open plan, but feel separate. In the living area there's a copy sofa, mid century furniture, a dining table to seat four comfortably and a window seat. The kitchen is very well equipped for cooking at home and there's an Airfryer as well as an oven, microwave and dishwasher.
The bedroom is large and there's plentiful storage as well as a comfortable bed with great quality linens so that you'll sleep well. In the well appointed bathroom you'll find a shower over the bath, plenty of storage and a good quality shower.
Outside, you can enjoy the shared Quartermile gardens and within the development, there's a wide range of excellent facilities - a gym and yoga studio, Sainsbury's, restaurants and Edinburgh's best cinnamon/cardamom bun at Soderberg which is mess than a minute from this home.
It's the perfect home during the Edinburgh Festival as the location is so brilliant and for many discerning guests, Simpson Loan is the only place to stay.

The Location
The Simpson Loan/Quartermile development is brilliantly located, right in the centre of Edinburgh, overlooking The Meadows. Within the development, you'll find all the facilities you need for life - gym, yoga, small supermarket, cafes, restaurants etc. The Meadows is an excellent exercising and relaxing outdoor space. Across The Meadows in Bruntsfield, you'll find excellent local restaurants, shops, cafes etc. It's a wonderful neighbourhood. If you take a very short walk towards the Old Town, you'll find an incredible range of places to be entertained. You can easily walk to city centre locations from here.

Lauriston & Bruntsfield
With some of the best cakes on offer in Edinburgh (we do love a cake at Dickins…) and a whole load more besides, there’s a delicious choice of things to do in Lauriston and Bruntsfield. For us Lauriston runs from Fountainbridge and across to Quartermile in the North to Bruntsfield Links in the East, along Strathern Place and the border with Morningside in the South and Gilmore Place in the West.
For a jog, a stroll, a walk with the children, a game of football or a lie in the sun there is fabulous outdoor space in Bruntsfield Links. Bruntsfield Links is one of the oldest golf courses in the world (you can chip and put here for free) and the Golf Tavern which overlooks it was established in 1456. The Meadows run on from Bruntsfield Links creating a huge outdoor space. Quartermile overlooks the Meadows and is the property hot spot of the area. It is much sought after and was designed by Foster + Partners. It comprises luxury apartments, offices and cafes and is on the site of Edinburgh’s old hospital, The Royal Infirmary. The incredibly popular cafe and bakery Peter’s Yard is there (I find it hard to walk past without buying a cardamom bun or a cardamom ice cream in the summer.)
