About This Home
AWellington Welcome is going to make you feel delighted, as well as welcome, the moment you step through the front door. This is a warm and wonderful penthouse and a much loved home. Located on the third floor, the climb rewards you with gorgeous open rooftop views over the Edinburgh.
The owners are travel and adventure loving Scots. As well as travelling abroad, they love their home country, Scotland, and their home is very attractively decorated in colours you find in nature here. We love it! You'll notice that it is immaculately presented too.
There are two floors in this penthouse apartment. On the lower level you'll enter into a light filled hallway with gorgeous green painted woodwork and local art. The wonderful sitting room has a bay window which fills the room with light. You'll find lots of comfy seating here as well as a smart TV. This is a gorgeous room to gather in after a day exploring the city or making the most of the Edinburgh Festival. The dining kitchen has fabulous green walls and a stylish contemporary feel. There's a welcoming dining table with benches to gather around and chat through the days events or make plans for tomorrow! As this is a home, the kitchen is well equipped for cooking at home.
On this lower level, there's a sunny double bedroom with mustard coloured walls and a stylish bathroom with a shower over a bath.
On the upper level, you'll find two further bedrooms. One has a kingsize bed and the other a double. Both are located in the eaves, which creates a cosy, warm feeling as well as giving wonderful views from the velux windows, which also flood these rooms with light. There is a shower room on this upper level.
We would love to stay in A Wellington Welcome! This is a warm, wonderful and welcoming home and you're going to be so glad you booked it!

East New Town & Hillside

The East New Town and Hillside area is where it’s at. Running from Scotland Street in the West to Broughton Road in the North, Lower London Road in the East and Regent Terrace in the South. Local resident, Peter Irvine, of Edinburgh’s Hogmanay fame christened the area The East Village.
The highpoint, literally, of the area is Calton Hill. A walk up here is rewarded to magnificent views across the whole of the city and photo opportunities abound on Calton Hill. The National Monument is much climbed and the Nelson Monument was built to look like Nelson’s upturned telescope. The City Observatory is now the home of the Collective Gallery and there’s a cute café there too. Calton Hill is an incredible place to watch the fireworks, The Beltane Festival held there on 30th April is very popular and an enormous torchlight procession on 30th December culminates on the Hill.
