The Abbeyhill Colonies are a charming group of streets with a great community spirit. They are a favourite with artists. In the local area there are some excellent independent cafes including Century General Store and Red Kite and on Easter Road you'll find the Manna House Bakery and several great small restaurants as well as supermarkets. It's easy to walk to Princes Street from here and many buses are available on London Road. Calton Hill is just along the road and a short climb to the top rewards you with some of the best views over Edinburgh.

This home in located on the ground floor and there's a sunny private front garden with a bench. Perfect for sitting and reading a book or enjoying a glass of wine. This is normally a home and so it's very well equipped. It has a charming atmosphere. The sitting room is a lovely space and when I took the photographs sun was streaming through the window. There's interesting art and books. The double bedroom is pretty and peaceful. The kitchen is lovely and there's a table to seat two. It's well equipped for dining at home. The bathroom has a shower over the bath.

During the Edinburgh festival a whole month booking would be preferred in this home.
