Frederick Street lies to the North of Princes Street in the New Town,  a UNESCO World Heritage site composed of one of the most complete landscapes of Georgian architecture in the country. As a city centre location, it cannot be beaten.

A short walk among the restaurants and cafes take you to the upmarket boutiques and bars of George Street and a bit further on to Princes Street and their glorious gardens, all kindly watched over by Edinburgh Castle.  You really are in the heart of the city.

The James Craig and William Playfair Apartments are opposite each other in the same building and have been meticulously created to achieve a calm and peaceful environment to escape to from the buzz of the city.  The William Playfair Apartment looks out over the cobbled lanes and rooftops to the West.  The apartment has been meticulously planned with comfort in mind to make the most of the space with an eye for detail and there's some wonderful modern art.

Entering the home from a slate flagged main hallway, the open plan living space lies to the right with its comfortable leather sofa and armchair (the perfect place to lie and read a favourite book or watch TV) beautifully appointed and equipped kitchen with an island and a lovely dining table with church pew seating. The modern art adorning the walls and the floors of solid oak provide a pleasing contrast to the muted tones used in the decoration.

There is also a clever study desk in the living space which easily converts to a double bed should you need the extra space temporarily.

Moving back through to the entrace hall, you will find the generous bedroom with its vast and endlessly comfortable super king bed dressed in crisp, white linens.  An Anta tweed throw and cushions add a tasteful touch of Scotland here and the window once again looks out to the West.  The bathroom is next door and it too is a generous space comprised of a full size bath and separate shower cabinet.  Solid oak shelves and oversized while tiles are set off perfectly by the mosaic patterned floor; you will never want to leave.

This self catering apartment is available for holiday lets, short term and corporate lets, city and weekend breaks and as Edinburgh Festival accommodation.

Please note, during the Edinburgh Festival a whole month booking is preferred in this apartment.
