What The Dickins: A Tale Of Edinburgh City

5 Fabulous Dog Friendly Holiday Lets in Edinburgh

Dogs are like family members and we understand that many people want their furry friends to travel with them. It can, however, be difficult to find dog and pet friendly accommodation that you and your dog will enjoy. At Dickins we rent out several great self catering apartments where dogs are welcome as well – many of which even have private gardens. Although in Edinburgh you’re never far from a park either! Here are five of our dog friendly properties, which your dog will also feel like home in!

Buccleuch Place

This beautiful and character-filled two double bedroom apartment on Buccleuch Place in Edinburgh’s Southside is ideal for dogs. Not only will you and your dog have a private south facing walled garden to enjoy, but the huge Meadows Park is literally on your doorstep as well! The bedroom is quiet and looks onto University Gardens. With all the greenery around you won’t feel like you’re in the middle of the city and your dog will have lots of space to run around in. Do note that this flat can also be rented as a one bedroom property.

Old Fishmarket Close

If you have a dog and want to stay in the middle of the Old Town that is no problem either. Old Fishmarket Close sleeps four and is located in one of the first contemporary buildings in the Old Town. You’ve got all the important Edinburgh sights only a short walk away from your doorstep, as well as Princes Street Gardens where you can take your dog for a walk surrounded by greenery and with great views of the castle. This is an unfussy and stylish apartment in the heart of the city that has everything you need.

Lauriston Gardens

The bedrooms are peaceful and quiet and look out onto the pretty private garden and patio with table and chairs. Lauriston Gardens is right next to Lothian Road and Bruntsfield with many great coffee shops, cafes and restaurants – of which many are also dog friendly.

Royal Terrace

This luxurious and absolutely stunning four bedroom flat on one of Edinburgh’s most elegant streets is almost too gorgeous to be true. There’s no lack of space at Royal Terrace as three flats have been turned into one – and there’s a huge south facing private garden that your dog will love as well! You’ll be right next to Calton Hill with wonderful views of the city and lots of space to take your dog for a walk. Princes Street and all its shops is only a 10-minute walk away – but just be warned that you might find it hard to leave this beautiful flat!

Calton Hill

rockhouse

Not far from Royal Terrace you’ll find a true Edinburgh landmark home, Rock House. The house plays an important part in early photography history and has unrivalled views over Edinburgh. Rock House sleeps eight people and there is a lovely private garden in the back with views of the Dugald Stewart monument. If you want to take your dog for a walk you only need to step through the iron gate and enjoy Calton Hill and its open spaces.

The smart Terrace Apartment which is in the same building sleeps four and also welcomes dogs. The romantic Photographer’s Studio right next to the house sleeps two and will accommodate dogs as well. As the owner has decided to sell the trio of properties we’re only letting them until the end of October 2016  – so this might be the last chance to stay in these unique properties!
