Coronavirus (updated 31st July 2020)
How To Get In Touch With Us
Our telephone line is transferred to remote working. However, please contact us via email in the first instance [email protected]
To speak with Louise Dickins personally, please call 0131 558 1277 or email me at [email protected] I’m working remotely and this job means that I am frequently not at my desk in normal business hours, but I do always have my phone with me.
We are able to keep working smoothly from home and we are entirely set up remotely, with all systems fully operational. Our office is currently closed and we aren’t sure when it will reopen.
Current and Future Booking
For any future bookings made before 17th March 2020 or new bookings made since then, if you are unable to take up your stay due to Government restrictions imposed on travel or the re-closure of holiday accommodation or if you or anyone in your party has Covid-19 at the time of your booking, you would have the option to defer your booking or receive a credit note. Please note that if you are unable or unwilling to travel for any other reason, our normal cancellation terms would apply.
Bookings can be deferred to another date up to 12 months from the original departure date, subject to availability. The booking is not transferable to another property, unless it is another property in the same ownership.
Please note that if you rebook your stay for a period in a higher seasonal price band (for instance you choose to move your booking from a mid season to high season week), any difference in price must be met by you.
For guests who are unable to commit to another booking date at this time, we will issue a credit note/voucher on your account which can be used by you as payment against a booking of the same property for up to 12 months from the departure date of your original booking.
We Are Good To Go
We are pleased to confirm we are #GoodToGo. Endorsed by Visit Scotland, ensuring we meet all of the Government and Industry guidelines to welcome you to any of our wonderful homes with confidence.
Our homes are always cleaned to 5* hotel standards. In these times of Covid-19, we fully understand our public health responsibility to keep anyone connected to our homes – guests, housekeepers, tradesmen, neighbours etc. safe and well. We’re members of the Association of Scottish Self Caterers and they have compiled new cleaning protocols which have been endorsed by the Scottish Government and which we are following. So, you can trust that any home you book with us will be immaculately clean and safe.
Currently Louise, Nicky and Bethan are working whilst Simon, Cassandra, and Claire are furloughed. As well as being colleagues, we are friends – a family of sorts and we are sticking together. I am doing everything I can to get us to the other side of this together.
2020 has given space to think about the business, what we’re good at and the future.
In the Spring of 2021 we are adding long term letting to our range of services. It’s been 14 years since Dickins was involved in long term letting, but the time feels right to re-enter that marketplace. The usual Dickins ethos of quality, service, care and the personal touch will be at the forefront of this new long term letting service. Owners can rest assured that their property will be in safe hands with us, just as it is with our short lets. And guests will experience real service which can be a rare commodity in long term lets currently. If you’d like to discuss long or short term letting, please get in touch with Louise. It’s possible for you to give me a virtual tour, when I can’t visit in person.
Simon (my husband) and I have discovered that we’re a great team in work as well as life and we’re harnessing the skills we’ve developed and contacts we’ve made over the years to form Regent Residential. We will be doing renovations, refurbishments and development as well as interiors and investment advice.
I am convinced we will all get safely to the other side, although I believe when the world is back to ‘normal’ it will be a different one – actually a better one. I want to thank you for your patience and understanding and for the many lovely emails of support and encouragement we’ve received. They’ve been heartwarming.
Until then, stay well and safe.
