Looking for an idyllic and romantic retreat with a touch a French elegance? Brunton Place has it all. As soon as you walk through the front door, you’ll see how much thought has gone into making your stay as comfortable and lovely as possible, including baskets of slippers and a selection of wellies! As you can see, the main bedroom (there are two bedrooms in total) bedroom is a luxurious sanctuary decorated in a pretty French style.
Located in East New Town, Calton Hill is nearby, which is the ideal location for a romantic stroll to soak in the magnificent views of Edinburgh. There are also a variety of lovely coffee shops and restaurants in the area, including the Century General Store, Red Kite, and Valvona and Crolla. In the evening, why not take in a show at the Edinburgh Playhouse which is only a short distance away.
You’ll struggle to find a place anywhere in the world as romantic and special as The Photographer’s Studio at Rock House. This perfect little folly is set within the Rock House gardens so you get to walk through the wonderful Rock House wrought iron gate and into a secret world. Once inside, you climb a tiny wooden staircase into what must be the most romantic and charming room in Edinburgh. The room is octagonal in shape and there are three windows with window seats so you can soak up the amazing views. The kitchen is hidden behind clever shuttered doors and there’s also a lovely wood burner for snuggly moments. Downstairs there’s a beautiful bedroom and a shower room.
Perfect for any keen photographer’s, this studio was built on the site of Hill and Adamson’s famous photographic studio. They were very important pioneers of photography and lived in Rock House in the 1840’s. Although you would never guess you were in the middle of the city, you are less than three minutes from Princes Street. Calton Hill is your back garden and the world of Edinburgh is your oyster. Special memories are made here and The Photographer’s Studio has played host to several ‘I Will’ and honeymoon moments.
If you love modern art, a stylish environment, getting a great night’s sleep in a comfy bed with beautiful linen, excellent shopping and a night on the town, then our William Playfair Apartment at 54 (3) Frederick Street could be the one for you. It’s a calm oasis tucked away in the midst of our Georgian UNESCO World Heritage site. As a city centre location goes, it cannot be beaten. George Street is a minute away and lovely Thistle Street is across the road. You and your partner can look out across the rooftops in peace and quiet and yet have all that Edinburgh city life has to offer on the doorstep.
Stockbridge is a much loved area of Edinburgh and so is our architect designed studio on Dean Park Mews. Guests absolutely love this space with it’s white walls and vaulted ceiling. There’s even a a “Juliet” balcony to allow romantic serenading from below!
You’ll feel like an Edinburgh local in Stockbridge which has a plethora of great places to eat and shop including Cowan & Sons to enjoy lunch or indulge in Scottish cuisine at Tom Kitchin’s Scran and Scallie. Famed for its food shops, you’ll find cheesemongers, fishmongers and butchers. The Water of Leith walkway is the perfect place for a wander, you can walk along to Insta favourite Dean Village or pop by the Sunday market and pick some local Scottish produce to cook together. If you want to walk into the centre of Edinburgh, it’s only 15 minutes walk away.
There’s a sense of seductive, luxurious fun about our home on South Charlotte Street. It’s sexy. There are four windows in the sitting room to gaze out of onto beautiful Charlotte Square, so you may struggle to drag yourself away from sipping a cocktail or glass of champagne on the sofa. There are two bedrooms and both have superking beds and fabulous linen.
If you do leave the apartment, then you’re in the heart of everything with Princes Street and George Street with a minute away. The stylish Principal Hotel on Charlotte Square is next door and perfect for coffee or cocktails. You can even bring your car as there’s a private secure garage around the corner. What’s not to love!
