Time to Boogie at This Year’s Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival!
From late night jams with toe tapping beats to mesmerising performances from legends of the industry, this year’s Festival promises to be bigger than ever with over 170 concerts over 10 days from 15-24 July 2016.
We’re big fans of jazz and blues here at Dickins and have teamed up with the Festival to recommend four must see concerts this year. Here they are…
Davina & The Vagabonds
If you were lucky enough to catch the high energy, rocking blues set of Davina & The Vagabonds last year you’ll know she’s a must-see at the Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival. She’s been compared to Etta James and Amy Winehouse but Davina is a true original. She’s returning to the Festival for a full 10 day residency this year so don’t miss your chance to see one of the hottest tickets in town!
The suave sophistication, fabulous presence and sheer musicality of the singer and saxophonist, Curtis Stigers, makes him one of the biggest names at this year’s Festival. He’s playing with his own group and it promises to be a swinging night out. Not to be missed.
Bryan Carter is the cover star of this year’s Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival brochure and we’re very excited to see this rising star. He’s a drumming extraordinaire and is performing six concerts around Edinburgh this July.
Castro Coleman a-k-a Mr. Sipp, “The Mississippi Blues Child”, made such an impression last year that he’s been invited back, and with his band this time. This blues star combines guitar excellence and vocal power. Prepare to be wowed.
