In a few months August will be here again and Edinburgh’s International Festival and Fringe Festival will arrive in our city transforming it into the world’s largest stage for the greatest arts festival in the world! Thousands of performers take to hundreds of stages all over the city to present shows of all kinds and for every taste. There’s nowhere like Edinburgh in August and you can not only see some of the world’s finest performers but you can also stay somewhere incredible too! We’re lucky to look after some of the finest homes in the city, so if you’d like to treat yourself this August, please take a look at this fabulous selection of Edinburgh luxury holiday homes and apartments. We absolute love this home. It’s the ultimate Edinburgh apartment – fabulous in scale with views to die for, gorgeous high ceilings and architectural details as well as the fabulous style of the owners. There’s a fabulous long dining table in the kitchen for gathering and deciding what to do that day, comfy sofas for relaxing and great beds with shutters in the bedrooms, so you’ll sleep well too. It’s located in the the west New Town just around the corner from the Book Festival in Charlotte Square and it’s an easy walk (on the flat!) to the Grassmarket and all the big Southside venues.

Edinburgh has some stunning townhouses and this family home on East Claremont Street is one of them. It’s fabulously equipped for family life and comes with a curved stone staircase, high ceilings, architectural delights, a luxury of space and style to boot. It’s very comfy. East Claremont Street lies just at the bottom of Broughton Street so Princes Street is a 15 minute walk away, you’ll be able to access the delights of the festival but be able to escape from the madding crowds and there won’t be a bagpiper outside your bedroom window!

As you can see from this photo, this home is FABULOUS! It’s fun, family friendly, decidedly glamorous and rather sexy in parts too. There’s gorgeous artwork, a sense of style, dark walls as well as high ceilings and huge rooms. As well as the five bedrooms, you’ll find a private garden and parking. Brilliant Broughton Street is around the corner and Princes Street is 15 minutes walk away, so you’re close enough to the action, but can retreat from all the hustle and bustle to this luxurious oasis. It’s normally a family home and so this is the only chance you’ll have all year to stay here and call it your home too!

When the Victorians built Edinburgh’s West End they were out to impress. These buildings are magnificent and luckily this home is magnificent inside too. It’s recently been refurbished to the very highest standards by a family wanting to have a luxury base for the time they spend in Edinburgh each year and luckily for you, you can call it home too. The apartment is the top two floors of this building. You’ll find three lovely bedrooms and three bathrooms, a luxury kitchen and fabulous living space. The West End is 15 minutes walk to Princes Street or you could glide along in a tram. The Book Festival is a short walk away and all the hubbub of the Festival is a few minutes away in a taxi.

Gayfield Square is one of Edinburgh’s most delightful residential squares and this home is a luxurious, elegant delight filled with light, wonderful architectural details. The highlight is the gorgeous kitchen which opens up onto the fabulous sitting room. You’ll find every comfort you could wish for and we’re sure you’ll look forward to retreating here after a fun day at the Festival! For foodies Valvona and Crolla is just across the road. Princes Street is 10 minutes walk away and you can be in the main festival area in 20 minutes walk or a short cab ride returning to the oasis of this home at the end of the day.

6. 26 Queen Street

Wow was the first thing we thought when walking through the front door into this wonderful home. The hallway is impressive and so is the rest of this home over two floors. The location is superb with George Street just around the corner so it’s perfect for Assembly Rooms. There’s a fabulous dining area in the kitchen with a great table for gathering around and all three bedrooms are located at the back of the building so they are lovely and quiet.  This is normally a home and so this is the only chance you’ll have to call it your home too.

7. 18 Northumberland Street

If you want a home with wow factor where you can even bring your dog, then this amazing, luxury home on Northumberland Street in the heart of the Georgian New Town ticks all the boxes. Luxury is an often overused word, but this home truly is luxurious with a stylishly on trend interior – think dark walls, velvet, crystal chandeliers, metres of marble and the comfiest of beds. There are three bedrooms and three bathrooms and a dressing room which is straight off the set of Sex in the City. George Street and The Assembly Rooms are just around the corner and in 5 minutes in a cab you’ll be in George Square. It’s a beautiful walk home from there – all downhill!

This main door home on the ground floor of a Georgian building in the heart of Edinburgh’s New Town is a delight. It’s an immaculately presented home from home and it is the Edinburgh home for the owners who spend part of the year here, so it’s very well equipped. The main living space is wonderful with a table for gathering and reading programmes and reviews. The two bedrooms are downstairs and very quiet with comfy beds, so you’ll get a great night’s sleep no matter what time you go to bed! George Street and Assembly Rooms is a short walk away and the main festival venues are a short cab ride away with a stunning walk home which is all downhill!
