George Street is less than a ten minute walk away and excellent local shopping facilities are available on nearby Howe Street. Popular Stockbridge is a short walk away too and has a wide range of excellent restaurants, specialist food shops and other local facilities. It is possible to walk to most city centre locations from here, but buses and taxis are available locally too. This self catering apartment is available for short lets, holiday and festival lets. From £600 per week.... Located on the third floor, this apartment is charmingly decorated and presented with some fine architectural detail. The sitting room has two comfortable large sofas, silk curtains, two windows and a working gas fire. The main bedroom has a kingsize sleigh bed and looks out over the Georgian New Town. Both the twin bedroom and small double bedroom are pretty and comfortable. The dining kitchen is well equipped and has a dishwasher and microwave and a dining table to seat six comfortably. The bathroom has a bath and separate shower cubicle. The apartment benefits from WIFI Broadband too. An elegant home from home. Drinking Whigham’s Cellar Bar Just off Charlotte Square, West New Town
Busy, popular with suits drinking haunt, with an excellent selection of wines. They have cosy candle lit booths, so if you get there early enough, you can catch up with friends away from the crowds. Great simple menu too. Places of Interest Princes Street Gardens Central/West New Town
While in Edinburgh why not have a stroll through the picturesque Princes Street Gardens. In the summer you will see many people picnicking, taking a break from shopping and generally relaxing. While in the winter take a stroll in a ‘Winter Wonderland’ with ice-skating and funfairs. Princes Street garden is also a great venue and the famous Hogmanay Party boosts many famous musical acts performing in the gardens like Blondie, The Scissor Sisters and Texas to name but a few. These gardens are where the original stinking loch was drained at the time the New Town was built. This is the place to watch the amazing post festival fireworks display; surely one of the best in the world. Open til dusk. Small and cosy, this old New Town favourite is always packed full. Great selection of real ales and good hearty crowd and very good value filling lunches. There?s always a fire burning in the winter. Drinking The Cambridge Bar More genteel than the neighbouring competition, The Oxford Bar, it has less atmosphere, but does serve a very good burger.
