It has just been refurbished to a high standard and provides a wonderful hideaway from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. As well as being incredibly quiet, it also has really superb views of Edinburgh's Old Town and overlooks Greyfriars Kirk. This is a fantastic location for exploring Edinburgh as so many attractions and facilities lie on your doorstep including the Museum of Scotland and Edinburgh University and The Royal Mile is less than five minutes walk away. From this central position it's easy to walk around Edinburgh, but plenty of buses are available locally too. This apartment is available for self catering & holiday lets, city & weekend breaks, short term & corporate lets and the Festival. From £275/week…
The apartment has been designed to make the very most of the space available. There is a good sitting room/kitchen. There are three sofas, a small desk with a laptop giving you full access to the internet and a little dining table is available by the window, giving plenty of reason to sit and watch the world go by in the city beneath. There's a also a gas flame fire and a TV and DVD player. The kitchen is well designed and has a combi microwave. The double bedroom is little, but quiet and has a combed ceiling and the shower room has a small wet room style shower. A washing machine is available for guests use in a cupboard in the hallway. |

Drinking Bar Kohl 54 George IV Bridge, Old Town 0131 225 6936 Trendy and shiny. Big jugs of flavoured vodkas! Drinking The Bow Bar 80, West Bow,Victoria St. Old Town 0131 226 7667 A successfully revamped old style Edinburgh pub renowned for great variety of real ale and guest beers and a good selection of malts. Friendly local pub with no frills or themes. Sometimes frequented by City councillors and the occasional community education worker but still a great place. Only a 10 pace stagger from a brilliant cheese shop and a historically significant brush shop. Eating Petit Paris 40 Grassmarket, Old Town, 226 2442 Charming restaurant in the heart of the Grassmarket. Fantastic venue for lunch, they do an excellent offer of a '£5 menu ' which is worth every penny. Fast and friendly service, always busy, and a strong feeling of actually being in France! Charmant. Eating The Witchery 352 Castlehill, Royal Mile, Old Town 0131 225 5613 Another romantic treat destination by James Thomson. This is one of Edinburgh’s most popular treat restaurants with locals, regulars and visiting celebs. It has two rooms the sultry upper room and the glamorous secret garden below. Great pre and post dinner menu. Entertainment Dovecot Studios 10 Infirmary Street, Edinburgh 0131 550 3660 After an £8 million refurbishment, August 2008 saw the opening of Dovecot: new studio, exhibition and living spaces in the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town. The newly renovated former Victorian Baths will provide a permanent home for Dovecot Studios and an exciting new workshop space in which to develop collaborations with international artists and designers. Entertainment Usher Hall Lothian Road Tollcross 228 1155 The Usher Hall is one of the most outstanding concert halls in the world. For the best part of a century it has hosted some of the greatest concerts and events in the city including conductors Herbert Von Karajan and Claudio Abbado, singers Ella Fitzgerald and Elton John and performers Stephane Grapelli and Simple Minds. Places of Interest Edinburgh Castle Old Town As one of the most famous landmarks in Edinburgh, the Castle sits elegantly above the city. A visit to Edinburgh is truly not complete until you have walked round the site which dates from the 12th Century. As you explore, you can see the hourly changing of the guard and marvel at St Margaret's Chapel, the oldest building in Edinburgh, however do not be startled by the one o' clock gun salute, which happens on most weekdays. Places of Interest Mary Kings Close 2 Warriston's Close, Royal Mile, Old Town 0870 243 0160 If you are interested in Ghosts, monsters and legends then a trip down Mary Kings close is for you, however this experience is not just for ‘ghostbusters’, it also offers a great insight into the history of Edinburgh and how people lived in days gone by. Edinburgh’s Royal Mile used to boast as many floors underground as there are above and some pretty grim things went on so with much historical value and the spookiest atmosphere it is recommended not to go alone……! Shopping Armstrongs 83 Grassmarket, Old Town, 220 5557 Prepare to enter the best ever dressing up box when you walk into this classic Edinburgh shop. It may smell a bit musty but it's the only place to go if you need a dressing up outfit or indeed a dinner jacket or a kilt. If you go with friends you are sure to have a laugh in the dressing rooms. Shopping Cadenheads Whisky Shop 172 Canongate, Royal Mile, Old Town 556 5864. Specialist whisky supplier with some very rare whiskies as they use independent bottlings. They also sell rare aged rums. Eating Bistro du Vin 11 Bristo Place, Edinburgh 0131 247 4900 Wonderful bistro newly opened in November 2008 nestled in the heart of the Old Town. Serving classic European cuisine with a superb wine list. Open for lunch and dinner.
