This gorgeous apartment has just been refurbished to a very high standard and has its own front door. The sitting room has wonderful high ceilings, some fine architectural detail and two large windows making it very light and airy. There is very comfortable seating, a dining table to seat 6, wireless broadband, a TV and DVD player and a stereo with an ipod dock. The bedroom is beautiful and has a kingsize four poster bed. It is located at the back of the building and so is very peaceful. The kitchen is new and has a small dining table, a dishwasher, a microwave and a washer/dryer and the smart new bathroom has a whirlpool bath with a shower over the bath. 6a Forth Street is a perfect Edinburgh home from home.

  A new space has been created for cool folk to sip on a cocktail or too. Good vibe, great views both out of the window and behind the bar. Good selection of cocktails. You can sit outside in the summer and take in the stunning Edinburgh rooftop views.

  This popular restaurant is run by the Valvona and Crolla family. It has a great buzzing atmosphere and the food is delicious, if somewhat expensive. Popular with the Harvey Nichols shopping crowd.

  Calton Hill

  East end of Princes Street, Hillside
  Calton Hill is a relatively easy walk, with the best breathtaking panoramic views of the city and a number of interesting follies and monuments to explore. The view down Princes Street is particularly impressive. All sorts of events take place here including Hogmanay, the summer solstice and other Pagan events which can be energetic and a spectacle, including dancers and fire eaters. It’s not advised to visit at night.

  Valvona and Crolla is one of Edinburgh's greatest institutions and a must do for 'foodies'. Every single shelf is dripping with all sorts of delicious Italian produce and display fridges stuffed with authentic cheeses and meats. Well worth the visit but you may have sharp intake of breath when they tell you how much you owe at the counter! There's a café attached to the shop serving great breakfasts and lunches. Award winning Italian wine selection.
