"I was just sitting here giving your information to a friend who plans to visit Edinburgh when I reflected back on what a wonderful experience the Browns Place flat was. I loved Edinburgh and certainly hope to return soon. Thank you for everything."

Drinking The Barony Bar 81 Broughton Street, East New Town Great character pub on one of Edinburgh's most popular streets. A fire is always cracking in the winter, great selection of ales, good buzz and reasonable pub grub. Can be smoky but that will all change with the smoking ban. Eating Giuliano's 18-19 Union Place, Hillside/East New Town, 556 6590 We just love it! You are always guaranteed great over the top Italian service. Plenty to choose from on the menu, busy, ideal post/pre theatre spot. Don't expect a quiet night as this restaurant which is very popular with birthday parties etc, but it all adds to the party atmosphere. Eating The Olive Branch Broughton Street, East New Town, 557 8589 Easy going bistro style restaurant serving good reliable food and great fish and chips. Seats outside in the Summer. Places of Interest Calton Hill East end of Princes Street, Hillside Calton Hill is a relatively easy walk, with the best breathtaking panoramic views of the city and a number of interesting follies and monuments to explore. The view down Princes Street is particularly impressive. All sorts of events take place here including Hogmanay, the summer solstice and other Pagan events which can be energetic and a spectacle, including dancers and fire eaters. It’s not advised to visit at night. Shopping Valvona and Crolla Elm Row, Hillside. Valvona and Crolla is one of Edinburgh's greatest institutions and a must do for 'foodies'. Every single shelf is dripping with all sorts of delicious Italian produce and display fridges stuffed with authentic cheeses and meats. Well worth the visit but you may have sharp intake of breath when they tell you how much you owe at the counter! There's a café attached to the shop serving great breakfasts and lunches. Award winning Italian wine selection.
