Our Top 10 Instagram Snaps in October
You might know that we’re also on Instagram under the name dickins_edinburgh, and since the photos we post there are taken with great love and care we would like to share the most popular ones on the blog as well. So from now on there will be a monthly blog post with our top ten most liked Instagram snaps! Most of our ‘grams’ are from Edinburgh but there will also be the odd photo of food (we love food!), shopping (we love shopping!) and other places in Scotland and Britain (we love travelling too!). So here we go, our first ever Instagram round-up, enjoy!
1. Abbotsford
The first price goes to Sir Walter Scott’s home, Abbotsford, in the Scottish Borders. Louise’s 6-year-old son Archie scored the place a respectable ten thousand million out of ten – worth a visit in other words!
2. Circus Lane
The second place was snapped up by the always so pretty and popular Circus Lane between the New Town and Stockbridge. We should maybe mention here that we have an absolutely gorgeous modern mews house available for short term lets on this particular street, see our Circus Lane home here.
3. Cove Harbour
Another photo from Louise and her boys’ autumn break in the Scottish Borders made it to our top three. Cove Harbour really is pretty asa picture don’t you think?!
4. Vintage Porsche
Who doesn’t love a vintage car? This stunning navy blue vintage Porsche with a cream leather interior will definitely be included in our letter to Santa this year. (One can always dream!)
5. Greyfriars Kirkyard
One of Edinburgh’s most haunted spots, Greyfriars Kirkyard, was bound to be in the top five with October being Halloween month. It’s an incredibly pretty place right in the middle of the Old Town.
6. Palace of Holyrood House
There can’t be enough photos of the beautiful autumn colours that are slowly taking over Edinburgh – and paired with the beautiful Holyrood Palace we’ve got a winner!
7. Copper bath
Copper is very trendy right now, and the ultimate copper dream must be this fabulous copper bath in Fox & Anchor in Smithfield, London, that Louise had the honour of trying out!
8. The Blue Cabin by the Sea
Yet another one from Louise and her boys’ travels in Scotland. Cove Harbour has been described as “the coviest of coves” by Stephen Fry – and we have to agree. That’s the charming Blue Cabin by the sea you’re seeing in the distance.
9. Rock balancing
Rock balancing is sos much fun but be aware as it can be very addictive!
10. Botanic Garden
The Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh is one of our favourite green spaces in the city and such a beautiful place to explore in autumn. The installation in the photo is from the Botanic Lights event that takes over the garden after dark from the 13th of October to the 6th of November in 2016.
